The monk’s food, dress, dharma texts and all other sundry requirements have to be brought from Purang, Tibet and Simikot by mules and porters. As mentioned above, in Humla, transportation expenses are very high and thus the cost of living is more expensive as compared to living in a city. Over the years, Ven. Pema Rigsal Rinpoche has managed all of the expenses of the Namkha Khyung Dzong monastery on his own. However with today’s economic climate, there is a need for additional moneys from people like yourself who wish to contribute to the support of Buddha Dharma. Please view our info below to see how you can benefit our monastery either by a direct contribution to a monk or nun, or to one of the monastery projects.
